Terrorism (noun) –
1. The use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes.
2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3. Coercion, submission by force or fear.

I do not understand why our government continues to ignore domestic terrorism. While the FBI has dozens of groups from foreign countries on their terrorist watch list they continue to ignore domestic terrorists here in America. I believe that the groups currently on these FBI lists should be there, and that they present an ongoing danger to Americans and decent people world wide. I want our government to do all they can to destroy these vile animals as efficiently and quickly as possible. But the lists are very incomplete, because they do not include a lot of terrorists groups that exist within our own borders and in neighboring countries.

We must consider all definitions of terrorism, and realize that the purpose of terrorism is to force people to do what you want by making them live in fear. The definitions of terrorism at the beginning of this article are from one source, but there are, of course, many variations. Despite differences in semantics they all have one thing in common … coercion by force and fear. Mirriam Webster defines terrorism as “the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion” and defines terror as “a state of intense fear”. Terrorism is used for a variety of reasons including religious hate, racism and economic gain. Any time a human being must live in fear or is forced to act out of fear they are being terrorized.

Any and all organizations, members of those organizations and any individuals that fall within the following general groups should all be considered terrorist organizations or terrorists individually. They should all be treated as terrorists by our government. These groups include –

  • Any and all organized or loosely organized street gangs such as MS13, Bloods, Crypts, etc. that use violence, terrorism or criminal activity for financial gain, to control “territory” such as neighborhoods or geographical areas, or to coerce others to cooperate with them.
  • The Ku Klux Klan and any of the many neo-nazi, white supremest groups that have engaged in murder and all forms of violence or terrorism to oppress or coerce anyone that is not like them. Their hideous acts are primarily base on racial and religious hate, but many of these groups also use terrorism for financial gain.
  • Traditional organized crime families and organizations commonly known by such names as the Mafia, La Cosa Nostra, the Black Hand, the Honored Society, etc. There are many different sects of this type of crime organization in America. These types of terrorist groups have existed for thousands of years, always seeking financial gain and power by violence and terrorism.
  • The drug cartels of Latin America are as violent and ruthless as any terrorists on earth and they continue to infiltrate America with illegal drugs, murder for hire, human trafficking and many other violent, vile criminal activities. Chapo Guzman’s Sinaloa cartel, the Zetas, the Juarez cartel, MS13, the Gulf cartel, etc. etc. all engage in incredibly brutal and savage acts of violence against any who do not cooperate with them. Financial gain and power is their motivation and terrorism is how they gain and keep the control of local populations and government officials.

There are probably other groups that belong on this list as well, the ones above come quickly to mind as true terrorists organizations. We will never be able to purge our society of the grief, fear, suffering and sorrow these groups inflict upon innocent human beings until we deal with them as the vile terrorists they are.

The Senate Republicans have failed for the third or fourth time in their attempts to repeal the ACA. They still cannot get it together as to what they all agree will work. In the meantime the Democrats seem perfectly content to do nothing. This has gone on so long I am getting tired of writing about it. The current system is failing and neither party seems capable or willing to take the steps needed to fix it. I don’t think the Republicans and Democrats are even discussing the issues with each other. It looks like this issue is going nowhere for some time to come and the problems for health care for Americans will only get worse.

A couple days ago North Korea had what appears to be a successful launch of an ICBM. This missile has an estimated range of 5,000 miles. That’s far enough to reach New Zealand, India, Moscow or Alaska. The scariest part about this is that Kim Jong-un is crazy enough to use this if he can ever develop or get access to nuclear warheads. The US has been trying do deter North Korea for decades on their nuclear ambitions, but all efforts have been complete failures. We have attempted to get China to help control this madman, but China has no incentive to do so. They have expansion ambitions in the South China Sea and the more chaos that North Korea causes the more it distracts from what China is doing. There is no good answer for this problem. Presidents Bush and Obama both failed in trying to change north Korea’s course of action. President Trump seems to think that preparing for conflict is the only way to deter aggression by dictators like Kim Jong-un but the fact is nobody has a good solution for this.

About a week ago I was watching Rachel Maddow (MSNBC). She was doing a segment on how politicians all use various tactics distract the public to hide or minimize information they do not want the public to know, or at least do not want them to pay attention to. She stated that this is a “skill” that all politicians have and that they all do this on a regular basis. She noted that some of these tactics include releasing information late Friday afternoon, creating another event or statement that gets more attention than the problem statement, etc.

What I found odd was that she seemed perfectly ok with this. What she didn’t like was that President Trump took this “skill” to a new, more vulgar level, being more crude, rude and insulting than anyone else has ever been to distract the public.

What she was really upset about was that Trump was better at this distraction tactic than any of the Democrats, and she wanted to point out what a rude, obnoxious person he is. Well, she is correct in that respect and I agree with her. Trump can be a crude, vulgar human being, but that was not what I found troubling about her presentation. This segment by Maddow exemplifies the difference between a moderate and an extremist. She thinks it’s ok for politicians to hide the truth from the American people as long as it benefits her political agenda or it’s her political party that’s doing it. Moderates believe that it is wrong for politicians to do this at all. This is a perfect example of the party Nazi thought process. Justify in your mind whatever your party is doing, then condemn anyone that does not agree with you for doing the same thing. The worst part of this is that Maddow is a well known political commentator on a major network and she thinks it’s ok for politicians to lie as long as they are doing what she thinks is right.

The Party Nazi mentality never ceases to amaze me.
